Oak Ridge Center for Manufacturing
The Oak Ridge Center for Manufacturing Technology performed a simple energy consumption test of the APR Control installed on some old equipment in their facilities. The test took the form of a before and after comparison.
The initial test, which mimicked full load operation (over a short time period), showed an efficiency gain of over 6.5%. The longer run test that was conducted showed an efficiency gain of nearly 20%.
While we have had some concerns about flaws in the testing model and the resulting data, the test does show that the potential for dramatic energy savings exists by installing the APR Control. Regrettably, we were not closely involved in the testing process and we feel that some of the methodology and a lack of information about the load on the space make this test less conclusive than it appears on the surface.
